Groin Strain

Southern California athletes are often very familiar with a groin strain. Groin strain occurs when there is a stretching, straining or tearing of the muscle fibers or tendons running from the front of the hip to the inner thigh. Overuse of the muscles, insufficient warm-ups, changing direction suddenly, poor form in lifting, or athletes who engage in high contact sports are routinely seen by Dr. Nadel for groin strain. This type of injury typically does not require surgery as most cases of groin strain can be treated with rest, ice, gentle stretching, anti-inflammatory medication or physical therapy. As one of Los Angeles’ leading experts in sports injuries, Dr. Nadel has successfully treated countless athletes suffering from groin strain, so that they can return to the sports they love as quickly as possible.
