How do I know if my ankle is broken, or if it’s just sprained?
In many cases, you won’t know if you’ve fractured one of the bones in your ankle until you’ve had an X-ray. The symptoms of sprains and fractures are similar, with swelling, bruising, and a feeling as if you cannot put weight on the ankle. In either case, you’ll want to see an Orthopaedist immediately to get started on a course of treatment to heal your ankle. Dr. Nadel has onsite X-rays, so he will be able to tell if there is a fracture on your initial visit. Make an appointment as soon as possible.
